Zulte Waregem wins the third edition of the Home of Football Cup with their U16 team. On Sunday, the U16 teams competed in the new Champions League format. The final was ultimately reached by Go Ahead Eagles and Zulte Waregem. In a thrilling final, it ultimately came down to a penalty shootout. This series was finally decided in favor of the Belgians after eight taken penalties. They win their first Home of Football Cup with this victory. Mathis Baekelandt and Mpiana Maxim from Zulte Waregem also won individual awards. The Zunnebargh in Diepenveen was again the venue for the Home of Football Cup this year. On Saturday, nine U14 teams kicked off. VVV-Venlo ultimately became the winner of the U14 teams. They defeated Arminia Bielefeld in the final with 1-0. Joep Verhoop from SC Cambuur won the penalty trophy. Jornt Cornelissen from Go Ahead Eagles was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Elia Ewert from Arminia Bielefeld was named the best player of the tournament. The organizers of the Home of Football Cup would like to thank all teams, referees, volunteers for a wonderful tournament. They are already looking forward to next year when the Home of Football Cup returns with edition 4. The Home of Football Cup is an international youth tournament organized by trainers, team managers and volunteers from the football academy. The tournament was characterized by sunny days, determination, good football, sportsmanship, winners and a lot of fun. The tournament was a great success and the organizers are already planning for next year's edition.
